5 Things I Can’t Bear to Leave Behind When Holidaying in the UK
When you go abroad one of the things you are restricted on is luggage weight. If you did decide you wanted to take the kitchen sink then you will be charged excess baggage. No such thing when you stay in the UK though. You can take the contents of your house if you had a van big enough!
Of course, no one really wants to take a van with them when they go on holiday but what if you could take anything you wanted? Well, holidaycottages.co.uk recently put me to the challenge and asked with the advantages of not having a restriction on the amount of luggage you can bring, what would I take with me when holidaying in the UK?! Here is a list of the 5 things I would want to take.
1. Ross
When I visited Rhodes with Mark Warner recently, it was me travelling with 11 other bloggers. Don’t get me wrong, it was wonderful to be able to spend time with all of those lovely ladies. However, I love to share everything with Ross. He would have appreciated our room and all the lovely sites and experiences. So no, I don’t want to leave without him.
2. Grace
Of course, if I am taking Ross then I would have to take our girl. She soaks everything up like a sponge and she has been so luck to experience many things so far, including London, Devon and Weymouth, that I would like her to continue to discover all the things that our country has to offer. Also, together with Grace and Ross, we would be able to make lots of wonderful memories together.
3. My iPhone
Yep, I said it! My little piece of technology would need to come with me. Not for the reasons you might thing, like checking Facebook and Twitter. The reason is that I love the camera on my phone – it takes really clear pictures – and it means that I can take it practically anywhere. It also holds a stack load of music which means we can also have our favourite tunes with us everywhere we go.
4. Our PS3 Rockband Game
This is a firm family favourite of ours and we have loaded the car to capacity by taking this with us previously but we wouldn’t be without it! It has been our evening entertainment on many occasions and, with the British weather being rather changeable, we would need something to occupy us on the rainy days and in the evenings.
5. My Whole Wardrobe
Now if you are a woman, and if you are anything like me, then you will understand the quandary of not knowing what to pack! Especially with the changeable weather in this country. So, why not opt to take your whole wardrobe?! It would mean that I would have all my clothes and shoes to hand and not worry about leaving anything behind. Brilliant!
So, there you have it! My must-haves if I was able to take anything at all. What would you take?

Good luck with the competition! I’d find it hard to leave behind my family, too. But I have to say I’d rather take a brand-new set of items with me, than my entire wardrobe! 😉

That’s a great list – I’d probably want to swap my phone for my camera and would leave the PS3 but otherwise I think my hubby and my girls would be top of the list and wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to bring the entire wardrobe. If only suitcases worked like Mary Poppins bags! 🙂
Agree on all of them – except the games console – but the iPad would have to come!! It is SO hard to restrict your baggage when holidaying in the UK. We frequently go up north and I always end up shoving a few extra bags with shoes and jumpers in – just in case it’ll be cold and wet (which it usually is) #PoCoLo

I completely agree with your first four, less with the fifth – but then maybe I’m not supposed to!
We’re off on holiday tomorrow and the iPhone will be top of my list. Closely followed by the rest of the family of course! #pocolo
I love to pack the car up to the max when we go away in the UK. Nice not to have to do without stuff.

I totally agree with all (except my husband and daughter) you know what I mean 😉 I think one of the major advantages of holidaying I the UK is the no baggage allowance-I don’t travel light. Who know how quickly the weather could turn-get it all in the boot 😉

I’d add taking my 2yr old’s stroller, I just got back from carrying her all round town so wouldn’t go on holiday without it, my arms need a holiday!!

You make great points with 1 and 2. The three of you are so sweet, I can’t imagine you apart! As for the entire wardrobe, I am pretty much the same!
It would have to be my daughter, my hubby & my iphone!
Oh yes….iPhone!! I think I’d start visibly twitching if I was away from mine for too long!
Haha I am terrible with my wardrobe. I always pack waaaay too much and squish it all in. I can’t bear to go without my two Z’s either. I always have these grand plans to have a couple nights away and leave Little Z with my parents and then we both chicken out. 🙂
